Wandeling vanaf Bungalow 64 naar Overeys langs de Eyserbeek.

Overeys from Green Park Simpelveld (7,1 km)

A nice walk from Bungalow 64 to Overeys and which largely follows the Eyserbeek basin. The walk passes Castle Goedenraad and the Old mill in Simpelveld, both national monuments, and then ends again at the bungalow park. Click here to view the route in Google Maps.

Valkenburg, castles and quarries (6 km)

This walk starts opposite Schaloen Castle. The walk takes you past several old quarries, Schaloen Castle and East Castle near Valkenburg.

Walk in the Kolomonderbosch with the adjoining abbey Sint Benedictusberg

Forest, abbey and castle (8.8 km)

This walk starts at the holiday park and leads through the Platte Bosch and Kolmonderbosch, along the abbey of Sint Benedictusberg and castle Nijswiller.

Walk along the top edge of the Curfsgroeve, a marl quarry from the 1930s.

The walk passes the Geulhemermolen, a watermill in the Geul and remnants of a workshop from the Second World War.

Epen is 15 minutes away by car from Bungalow 64. This walk leads past the sources of the Geul.

This walk takes you over the flanks of the plateau of Vijlen, through the Vijlenerbos. Halfway you will come to the river Geul. Just before the end you will find a water mill, De Volmolen.

Brunssummerheide 15 km from the Bungalow Park

The Brunssummerheide, a varied nature reserve with heather, forest and sand drift, is 15 minutes away by car from Bungalow 64. Various walking and cycling routes have been plotted.

Nice walk from Slenaken through the Lower and Upper forest, 15 minutes drive from Bungalow 64. The walk contains a number of steep parts, beautiful views and goes a short distance through Belgium.

Bemelen is 30 minutes away by car from Bungalow 64. The walk takes you past old limestone quarries and enters Bemelen along the Marl wall of the Bemelerberg.

A nice walk that starts at bungalow 64 through nature on the north side of Simpelveld, past the Stations of the Cross and the center of Simpelveld you will return to the park.

Bicycle tours

We have cycled the following bike tours ourselves and found it very worthwhile. There are several mountain bike routes in the area for mountain biking. Cycling to the border triangle at 11 km from Bungalow 64 with a visit to the King Baudouin Tower

Simpelveld – Three country point (24,8 km)

From Bungalow 64 you can cycle to the highest “mountain” in the Netherlands in Vaals, this is also the Three country point. Here you can make a stop on one of the cozy terraces.

A nice outing for a rainy day is the indoor shopping center Belle-Île in Liège, a 45-minute drive from Bungalow 64. You can park for free and dry under the shopping center.

Lindt chocolate factory Aachen

The factory outlet (Werksverkauf) of Lindt is a 15-minute drive from Bungalow 64. Lots of chocolate for little money. Free parking is available.
